Bischöflichen Weingüter Trier - Episcopal Wine Estates Trier
A rich tradition: In 1966, the merger of three significant wineries— Bischöfliches Konvikt, Bischöfliches Priesterseminar und Hohe Domkirche —created an estate with vineyards in absolutely prime locations.
In the legendary steep slopes along the river valleys of the Mosel, Saar, and Ruwer, the grapes are harvested for our terroir driven premium wines. These wines invite you to experience the unique diversity of vineyards and the vibrant wine culture of the area.. The wine cellars extend directly beneath the Old Town of Trier over approximately 30,000 m² and house the largest still-operating “Fuder” barrel cellar in the world.
The vineyards are managed from two operational facilities: Duisburger Hof in Trier-Eitelsbach and Alten Scharzhof in Wiltingen-Scharzhofberger.

This sparkling wine from the legendary Scharzhofberg combine harmoniously. The result is a Riesling with great elegance and a fine mellowness.
2023 Scharzhofberger Große Lage Riesling Kabinett
No top location on the Saar is cooler. Fortunately so! The fresh Hunsrück breeze that blows through the Scharzhofberg prolongs the ripening of the grapes and produces fine, delicate Rieslings. We let the must ferment spontaneously with its own yeast on the grape skin. A classic Scharzhofberg Kabinett that lives from its contrast of exotic fruit notes, a hint of salt and clear acidity - impossible to copy.
2023 Scharzhofberger "Mittlerer Josef" Riesling GG trocken
Extremely strong in character: this Große Gewächs from the legendary Scharzhofberg vineyard on the Saar is clear and precise with brilliant fruit. Ripe exotic fruit combined with a pithy smokiness complete this highly elegant Riesling rich in extracts. The cool and precise style of this terroir-influenced wine is in harmony with its fine acidity and ends with a long finish that reveals its great potential.

Pure Mosel Riesling typicity: the bouquet is shaped by fresh fruit, while a light, dancing minerality is felt on the palate. The taste is pleasantly fresh, with a lingering sense of fullness on the finish.
2023 Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Große Lage Kabinett
Highly elegant and complex on the nose, revealing not only beautiful fruit notes of peach and pear, but also hints of flint and herbs. This Mosel Große Lage Kabinett is playful and delicate. Impressive in its balance of lightness and brilliance – a wine where power is born from elegance.

2020 Pinot Noir dry
Our 2020 Pinot Noir captivates with intense dark fruit aromas of ripe cherries and juicy blackberries. On the palate, a cornucopia of flavors unfolds, harmoniously intertwined with fine tannins. All of this leads into a long-lasting, fruit-driven and subtly spicy finish.
Trittenheimer Apotheke Riesling Dry RESERVE 2019
With slopes of up to 70% gradient and a southeastern exposure directly above the Mosel, the grapes here ripen to full maturity. This Mosel Riesling Réserve combines power, elegance, and pronounced minerality. On the nose, notes of pear and white peach emerge through a dense slate-driven aroma. On the palate, despite its concentration and depth, the Trittenheimer Apotheke reveals brilliant fruit and a playful acidity. Full-bodied and substantial, it leaves a silky mouthfeel on the finish.
We recommend opening the bottle one hour before enjoyment to allow it to breathe, or serving it in a decanter.
