About us
The winery was founded in 1882 by Georg Müller, Co-owner of the large sparkling wine producer "Matheus Müller". In 1910 the winery was a founder member of the VDP, German Association of Predicate Estates.
Georg Müller donated his estate the his local village Hattenheim in 1913.
As from 1972 it was Weingut der Stadt Eltville, in 2003 the City decided to privatise it, Peter Winter, former CEO of one of the largest wine companies worldwide purchased the Estate.
The aim is to produce top quality wines, with respect for the environment, culture and human being. Soil quality has the highest priority, no use of fertilisers or herbicides, instead we sow mixed plants into our vineyards.
The Estate has a high rating in all five German wineguides, the most important guide, Gault & Millau 2024: TOP German Winery, 4 1/2 Stars!
Six Times "Best Producer Germany" by Mundus Vini!
20 Hectares, annual production of 130.000 bottles, 70% Riesling, 25% Pinot Noir, 5% Auxerrois and other grapes.
